Linear customer support integration

A bug report should not die in the inbox. Create a Linear issue from the conversation, keep the fields you would set in Linear, and let Fernand bring the thread back when the work is done.

What this connects

The Linear customer support integration is the feedback loop between the people answering customers and the people shipping the product. It is built for small SaaS teams where those people are often the same three humans.

From any Fernand conversation you can create a Linear issue or attach an existing one. Fernand mirrors a large part of Linear’s create-issue flow: team, state, priority, assignees, labels, and project. The customer conversation is added as a link on the Linear issue, so engineering is not working from a pasted email.

When the issue moves, support stays in the picture. Conversations can reopen when you close issues on Linear, which is how you avoid the “sorry for the late reply” message two weeks later.

What you can do in Fernand

Create a Linear issue from the inbox

Open a conversation, hit Shift+L or use the command palette, and file the issue with team, state, priority, assignees, labels, and project still under your control.

Attach an existing issue

Press L, or click Attach or Create issue in the sidebar, and link the thread to work that already exists. Unlink from the card if you attached the wrong one.

Shared context both ways

The Fernand conversation is added in Linear’s Links section. The Linear issue sits in the Fernand sidebar. Nobody is copy-pasting ticket numbers into Slack.

Close the loop when the issue is done

Conversations can reopen when Linear issue status changes, so you can tell the customer the bug is actually fixed.

Keyboard-first, like the rest of Fernand

L to attach. Shift+L to create. Command palette if you would rather type. The integration is meant to stay out of the way of inbox zero.

API access to the same loop

The Fernand API can search Linear issues, create them, attach them, update them, and read what is already linked. Useful for scripts and coding agents that triage on your behalf.

Concrete use cases

A customer found a real bug

File the Linear issue from the thread, assign it to the engineer who owns that area, and keep answering other conversations. When the issue closes, the thread comes back so you can write the customer.

The feature request is not new

Search Linear from Fernand, attach the existing issue, and reply with a honest status instead of creating a duplicate.

Support and product are the same people

You do not need a handoff ritual. The issue is created with the customer context already attached. Tomorrow you open Linear and the work is there.

An agent is helping with triage

A coding agent with a scoped Fernand API key can create or attach Linear issues from conversations, then leave you the ones that still need a human.

How it fits your support workflow

It starts in the shared inbox

You read the conversation in Fernand, decide it is product work, and file or attach the Linear issue without changing tools. See the shared inbox.

Engineering works in Linear

The issue looks like a Linear issue because it is one. Fields you care about were set from Fernand. The conversation link is on the issue if they need the original report.

Support finishes the conversation

When the issue is done, the conversation can reopen. You write the customer once, with the actual outcome, instead of polling Linear every morning.

Keyboard shortcuts

L Attach an existing Linear issue

ShiftL Create a Linear issue

K Create a Linear issue from the command palette

How to get started

  1. Go to Settings (G then S) → Integrations → Linear.
  2. Click Connect Linear and authorize Fernand on Linear’s consent screen.
  3. A Linear section appears in the conversation sidebar for everyone in the workspace.
  4. In a conversation, press L to attach an issue, or Shift L to create one.

Admin privileges are typically required to connect integrations. Connecting Linear turns it on for the whole workspace.

Questions about our Linear integration

Straight answers, without the marketplace filler.

Does Fernand integrate with Linear?
Yes. Fernand has a native Linear customer support integration. You can create issues, attach existing ones, and keep customer conversations linked to product work.
What Linear fields can I set from Fernand?
When creating an issue from Fernand you can select a team, state, priority, assignees, labels, and project. The goal is to keep the same level of control you have in Linear.
Do conversations reopen when a Linear issue is finished?
Yes. Fernand can reopen the linked conversation when issue status changes on Linear, so you can close the loop with the customer instead of discovering the fix weeks later.
Is there a GitHub alternative if we do not use Linear?
Yes. Fernand has a native GitHub integration with the same create, attach, and close-the-loop workflow.
Can I create Linear issues from the API or a coding agent?
Yes. The Fernand API can search, create, attach, update, and detach Linear issues. Scoped API keys are designed for handing this to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or your own scripts.
